Medical Staff
Doctors
- Dr E Beale MBChB DRCOG MRCGP
(GMC No. 2609872)
Dr Beale trained at Leicester University,
graduating in 1982. She completed her training in
General Practice in Basildon. In 1988 she moved to
Lee on the Solent and has worked in the area ever
since, founding the practice in 1991.
- Dr F Shaw BM DRCOG MRCGP DFFP
(GMC No. 2940629)
Dr Shaw qualified from Southampton University in
1984. She completed her GP training in Portsmouth in
1989. She has worked in a variety of practices in
the South of England and in New Zealand where she
worked in North Island for a year. She joined Dr
Beale at the practice in 2002.
- Dr D Deacon BSc MBBS MRCGP
(GMC No. 4535036)
Dr Deacon trained at Charing Cross and
Westminster Medical School (now part of Imperial
College London) and qualified in 1998. After
completing hospital posts in Aylesbury and
Peterborough, he moved down south and completed his
General Practice training in Portsmouth. He joined
the practice in 2005.
- Dr O Rider MBBS DCH
DRCOG DFSRH PHd
Dr Rider qualified at Minsk Medical Institute in
1990. She was a specialist ENT registrar at the
Belarusian Medical Academy before moving to the UK
in 2004. She joined the practice in January 2012.
Nurses
- Sheila Hayward RN DipN BSc
(Hons)
Sheila is our nurse practitioner/prescriber. She
is able to see patients in her clinic for minor
illnesses and can prescribe any medication
necessary. She qualified from Southampton University
in 1993. Prior to joining this Practice, she worked
as a District Nurse in Southampton and the local
community.
- Wendy Mannion RGN RM
Wendy completed her nursing training at the
Middlesex Hospital in 1986. She then trained as a
midwife at the Princess Anne Hospital in
Southampton, qualifying in 1988. Wendy has been a
Practice Nurse since 1989 and has completed further
training in Practice Nursing, Diabetes and Family
Planning as well as Diplomas in Asthma and Coronary
Heart Disease. Currently, she is studying for a
Diploma in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and
a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Midwives
Medical Students
- Medicine is a lifelong continual
learning process. We are privileged to have medical
students from Southampton University join us from
time to time in the surgery as part of their
training.
You will be informed if a student is sitting in with
the doctor or nurse that you are seeing. If you
would prefer not to have a student present, please
let the reception staff know.
Non Medical Staff
Practice Manager
Receptionists
- Front line staff trained to deal
with all enquiries and difficulties. They are bound
by the same rules of confidentiality as the rest of
the healthcare team.
